Mombasa Arrival

Night flight into Nairobi and an easy transfer to Mombasa. Big question as ever...will the bikes be accessible and will they start. Humphrey and his assistant Peter have done us proud. Bikes are stored safely and Carnets all stamped up. The secret storage location was Peter's house! He was such a top man and could not have been more helpful. Lotus Hotel is also great. So we went  to the hotel, got some rest and went over to assemble the bikes. no real issues, a small glitch on Martin's soon solved. Very hot, much sweating! Bikes now safely ensconsed at the hotel with 24 hr security (small guy with a big baton!). A place to put them overnight courtesy of great hospitable hotel staff. We are sleep deprived but glad to have this crucial phase over. The bikes will be great, they are so up for the job. So we have a day to 'fettle' the bikes and explore the Mombasa coast tomorrow then we head out on the big journey Monday. All good! What a privilege to be here and to have such a adventure ahead of us.
