You will gather from reading Martins last post that it was a bit of a rushed effort aimed primarily at letting the folks back home know that we had arrived safely. Now we have found an internet cafe it gives me the opportunity to fill in a bit more detail.

Heathrow check-in could not have been simpler. We drop off the bags, go through security and are off for a well deserved lager. Or at least the was the plan until Airport Security decided that the radical preacher from Gerrards Cross merited some extra "security checks" involving testing his luggage for explosive.

I left him to it for a well earned rest although when he still had not surfaced after around 30mins, I returned to see what the problem was. "They've detected explosives on my luggage" was the answer and were in the process of testing every sinle item in his bag, of which there were many; mainly children's toys etc, which, given the nature of Martins employment, took some explaining.

At this stage, rather like our previous trip, I decided it was every man for himself and went to the bar where I was joined some 30 mins later by martin who was still buttoning his clothes up and needed two lagers and a large packet of peanuts to calm down.

Anger having subsided, we boarded the planefor an uneventful flight to Nairobi and from there on to Mombasa whrere we checked into our hotel.

Bikes subsequently collected, we spoke with Humphrey, our "fixer" who, coincidentally is in the Samburu area where he has a farm and he invites us to lunch with him Tuesday.

We therefore bring our schedule forward by a day to include this, leaving Mombasa on Sunday morning. Weather cloudy and showery in Mombasa, we decide to go for it at around 10. First hour is spent getting out of Mombasa. Much heavy traffic and no road rules so it's all a bit heart in mouth stuff, but as we leave the outskirts and get on the Nairobi road the traffic lightens and the scenery becomes better.

After 4 or so hours we arribe at our destination - Hunters Lodge in Bukobo. We settle into our room, shower and chenge before going for a beer and meal.

Anyway readers, that's enough for the moment - time for tonghts beer and meal so will update more later.
